Perfect photos don't have to be complicated
You don't need a professional studio to photograph your feet. With a bit of practice and following a few principles, you can achieve shots that look like they come from a catalog. We bring 10 proven rules to help you.
10 golden rules
- Light is the foundation – Shoot exclusively in daylight, ideally by a window. Avoid direct noon sun, which creates harsh shadows.
- Clean background – White wall, sheet or blanket. A distracting background draws attention away from your feet.
- Stability – Use a tripod or prop up your phone so it's stable. Blurry photos are unusable.
- Timer – Set the timer to 3–5 seconds so you have time to strike a pose without shaking.
- Different angles – Shoot from the front, side, top and profile. Each angle shows something different.
- Pay attention to details – Nails must be clean, polish without chips, skin hydrated.
- Natural poses – Don't overdo it, relax. Tense muscles look unnatural.
- Quality over quantity – Better to have 5 great photos than 50 average ones.
- Experiment – Try different props – flowers, jewelry, shoes.
- Regularly update your portfolio – New photos show that you are active and your feet are still in good condition.
What to do when you don't have daylight
In winter or evening, you can use a ring light, which you can get for a few hundred crowns. It provides even soft lighting without harsh shadows.
